Produced by Chuck Wagner and final blended by Chris Phelps, this wine represents an extraordinary vintage, with a maturation period characterized by warm months with cool nights. Temperatures remained constant during the 1997 maturation period, without extreme peaks, favoring an excellent vintage in the main wine regions of California. On the eye, the wine is opaque with ruby reflections, while on the nose it features intense notes of cassis with a smoky and mineral undertone. On the palate, the pure extract of cassis mixes with silky tannins and a surprising persistence, with a long and spicy finish. A rich and concentrated wine, perfectly balanced and capable of aging for two decades.
