Barolo Riserva "Silio" - 2018 - Rizieri
Barolo Silio DOCG is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from a single vineyard in La Morra, in the MGA Silio area. The soil is clayey, slightly calcareous and moderately sandy, rich in manganese and magnesium. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for about 20 days and malolactic fermentation in wood. The wine is aged for 6 months in French oak barriques, followed by 18 months in 25 hl barrels. The wine has an intense garnet red color with purple reflections. On the nose it offers notes of dog rose, nutmeg, red fruits and a hint of tobacco. On the palate it is full-bodied, with hints of cinnamon, licorice, dark chocolate and black cherries.
