Languedoc vineyards generally tend to produce structured and generous red wines. Rosés are softer and fruitier. Languedoc white wines are fruity and ideal to accompany fish and seafood. Red and rosé wines are mainly made from Carignan, Grenache Noir, Cinsault and Syrah grapes. For whites, the grape varieties consist mainly of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Picpoul.
