Passopisciaro is a wine producer located on the lower northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, with vineyards primarily of Nerello Mascalese, Etna's most common grape variety. The unique terroir, characterized by volcanic soils and altitudes up to 1,000 meters, favors the growth of this variety. Passopisciaro, owned by winemaker Andrea Franchetti, also produces Cesanese di Affile, Chardonnay, and Petit Verdot. The winery offers single-vineyard wines, including a Nerello Mascalese from the Porcaria district, with vines at 650 meters above sea level. After harvest, the wines are aged in wood for 18 months.
