Ferrari is an award-winning sparkling wine house in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of northern Italy. It produces Metodo Classico wines of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under the Trento DOC label. The company was founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, with the intention of taking on the best wines of Champagne. In doing so, Ferrari became one of the first Italian estates to establish large plantings of Chardonnay. Ferrari has received considerable international attention-in 2015, it won Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year at the World Championship of Champagne and Sparkling Wine. Ferrari works with approximately 500 wine-growing families in the mountains of Trentino, in addition to growing some of its own vineyards. The wines are produced in Italy's largest sparkling wine plant, which cellars millions of bottles in large underground cellars. The disgorgement year is 1998.
