Château Richelieu, nestled at the foot of the Fronsac mound, whose altitude is a modest but respectable 70 meters, benefits from climatic conditions that protect the vines from the much-feared hail. The Richelieu land extends around its 17th century structure. 30 hectares (74 acres) of vines, ten of which are located in the historic core of the estate. The soils are composed of the classic Fronsac terroir of clay-limestone and Fronsac molasses which help produce wines of great class in their youth and elegance with age. Supported by great aromatic complexity, the wines reflect the mosaic of plots, soils and exhibitions from which they were made.
