Chateau de La Liquiére - 1995 - Faugeres
Faugères vines are south-facing, planted in Paleozoic schist, on steep slopes in poor but very well-drained soils. When young, Faugères wines tend to have toasted and smoky notes with hints of red fruits, licorice and spices. As they age, they develop animal notes and aromas of roasted coffee. Since 2005, they have also produced white Faugères, from Marsanne, Rousanne, Grenache Blanc and Rolle (or Vermentino).
