The Fanti brand Brunello di Montalcino is the company's historic wine produced since 1980, and is obtained from the selection of 10 hectares of Sangiovese, with vines of an average age between 20 and 30 years, located on the different slopes of the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area. The 2018 version is matured for 24 months both in barrique and large wood. On the nose, it alternates hints of red fruits and medicinal herbs, with floral touches and an abundant background spiciness. On the palate, the development is solid with an articulated tannic texture and a well-present acidic fragrance, which extends the sip to a broad finish with balsamic hints. Tenuta Fanti is managed by Filippo Fanti, who at the end of the 1970s transformed it from a sharecropping company into an all-round winemaking reality. The winery has 50 hectares of vineyards, between 150 and 400 meters above sea level, distributed across various plots, all within a few kilometers of the winery. We are not far from Castelnuovo dell'Abate, a reference point for the south-eastern quadrant of the denomination. Today, this reality produces 200,000 bottles of total production, mainly composed of juicy and intense Sangiovese, which the company interprets with a modern and lively style.
