E.Guigal is one of the most important wine producers in the Rhone Valley . It was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis-where its headquarters still remain today-on the western bank of the Rhône River, a stone's throw from the famous sun-baked slopes of the Côte Rôtie.
Guigal has a long history of viticulture and today the company holds plots throughout the northern and southern Rhône and produces wines from classic northern Rhône and Mediterranean varieties including Grenache , Mourvédre , Viogier and Rousanne , although the focus has always been on Syrah and Côte Rotie.
