Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Lorenzo" - 2020 - Le Filigare
Le Filigare is a historic hill in the heart of Chianti Classico, located between Siena and Florence, with two villages: Le Filigare and Le Macine. The main village, dating back to the 11th century and known as Fiaccole di Sopra, was used for the celebrations of the Patron Saint and hosted Pope Pius IX at the invitation of the Grand Duke Leopold of Tuscany. Since 1980, the estate has been owned by the Cassetti Burchi family, who transformed it into a prestigious company with organic production since 2016. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Lorenzo 2020 is produced with Sangiovese grapes. The soil is schistose, quite clayey and calcareous. The vineyards are exposed to the south-west, located at an altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level, with a planting density of 5,500 vines per hectare. The vine cultivation system is Guyot and spurred cordon.
