Clasico Malbec - 2000 - Altos Las Hormigas
Altos Las Hormigas Is a well-regarded wine estate based in the subregion Lujan de Cuyo by Mendoza, in Argentina. Grapes come from vineyards in Luján de Cuyo (70%) and the Uco Valley (30%). 100% Malbec harvested by hand. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 9 months in cement tanks. No aging in oak. This Malbec Classico has a brilliant ruby red color, enriched with vivid violet hues. The olfactory bouquet is intense, characterized by suggestive notes of red fruit, strawberry and fresh plum. Delicate mineral accents of graphite also emerge on the nose. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and remarkable ease of drinking, with an impeccable balance between lively acidity and soft tannins. The finish lingers in an elegant combination of fruitiness and verticality.
