Chateau d'Or et de Gueules "La Bolida" - 2008 - Costieres de Nimes
The estate currently covers 75 ha, of which 65 ha are in production, with a south-southeast exposure of the Costières, on a false floor. All the soil is in coiled pebbles of silica. The Costères de Nimes appellation has been in AOC since 1986, and is in the terroir of the Rhône Valley and not Languedoc-Roussillon, as many think. The planting of Chateau d'Or et Gueules is about 5000 vines/ha with an average yield of 35 hl/ha. The goal of Diane de Puymorin, owner of the Chateau, is to produce wines for pleasure, with low yields, always with an emphasis on freshness and acidity.
