Barolo "Leon" - 2020 - Cascina Luisin
Cascina Luisin's Barolo di Serralunga Leon comes from vineyards more than 40 years old. Initial maceration takes place for eight days in concrete tanks, with vigorous punching-down to extract color, followed by 60 days of gentler punching-down for noble tannins. The wine matures for 36 months in 30 hl Slavonian barrels. It has a ruby red color and a complex bouquet of violets, roses, berries, spices and chocolate, along with notes of hazelnuts, underbrush, truffle, minerals and smoky with hints of goudron. The palate is warm and savory, with pleasant tannins and balanced acidity, offering a harmonious taste experience.
