Barbera d'Alba "Scarrone Vigna Vecchia" is a wine made from 100% Barbera grapes from the oldest part of the vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, in the Scarrone locality, with southeastern exposure and a density of about 4,300 plants per hectare. Vinification involves cold maceration, two-week alcoholic fermentation in steel vats, followed by post-fermentation maceration. The wine is then transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation and aged for about 18 months between steel, barriques and barrels. It has a ruby red color, intense aromas of ripe cherries, vanilla and spices, with balanced freshness and an intense finish.
