Passopisciaro is a wine producer located on the lower northern slopes of Etna, Sicily, with vineyards mainly of Nerello Mascalese, the most common variety on Etna. The unique terroir, characterized by volcanic soils and altitudes up to 1,000 meters, favors the growth of this variety. Passopisciaro, owned by winemaker Andrea Franchetti, also produces Cesanese di Affile, Chardonnay and Petit Verdot. The winery offers wines from single vineyards, including a Nerello Mascalese from the Porcaria district, with vines at 650 meters above sea level. After harvest, the wines are aged in wood for 18 months.
