Tenuta San Guido's Sassicaia is one of the world's most celebrated Italian wines, produced from a 75-hectare vineyard divided into parcels characterized by limestone-rich soils, hence the name "sassicaia." Vineyard exposure is west and southwest, providing ideal conditions for grape growth. Fermentation takes place in steel with maceration on the skins for about 10 days, followed by aging for 24 months in French oak barriques and further rest in the bottle. Created in the 1950s at the behest of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta and perfected with the help of winemaker Giacomo Tachis, Sassicaia is an iconic wine that combines elegance and longevity, a symbol of Italian excellence on the international scene.
