Claude Dugat is a well-known wine producer in Burgundy, operating in the prestigious appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits. The small domaine, founded in 1955 by his father Maurice, is famous for its Pinot Noir wines and produces limited quantities, with the finest grand crus from the Griotte-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin vineyards. The grapes are fully destemmed, fermentation is rapid, and the pomace cap is soaked twice a day without pumping over. Claude runs the domaine with his family, and his sons run the small trading estate La Gibryotte.
