Shiraz - 2005 - Cape Mentelle
Cape Mentelle Vineyards is a renowned wine producer located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Founded in 1970 by the Hohnen brothers, it is one of the oldest wineries in the region and is now owned by LVMH. The estate is famous for its single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, which achieved major recognition in the 1980s. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the range of premium wines includes Two Vineyards Shiraz, Chardonnay and Wallcliffe Merlot-Petit Verdot-Malbec. The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon is the estate's signature style. With vineyard acreage growing from 16 to 150 hectares, Cape Mentelle also produces Grenache, single varietal Semillon and a couple of more affordable wines.
