The Schiavenza farm, active since 1956 in Serralunga d'Alba, was founded by the brothers Vittorio and Ugo Alessandria. Today it is managed by the son-in-law Luciano Pira, agronomist and cellarman, with the support of his wife Maura Alessandria and brother-in-law Walter Anselma. The farmhouse, once owned by the Opera Pia Barolo, owes its name to the "schiavenza" sharecroppers. The company extends over about ten hectares of vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and four Piedmontese days in Monforte d'Alba. It produces quality red wines, in particular Barolo, from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, with spicy notes and a dry and full flavor.
