Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon - 2005 - Pauillac
Château Peyrabon is a Cru Bourgeois winemaker on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. Unusually, it has vineyards in both Haut-Médoc and Pauillac. A trio of red wines are made with Cabernet Sauvignon supported by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The Haut-Médoc vineyard of Château Peyrabon is composed of gravel, clay, sand and limestone soils with vines averaging 25 years old. The Château in question produces two cuvées: the first under the Haut-Médoc appellation and the second, La Fleur Peyrabon, comes from 4 hectares selected in the Pauillac appellation. La Fleur Peyrabon generally has a firm and well-structured body; on the nose it gives hints of elegant fruit, which will evolve well over the years, also going to smooth the tannins.
