Crazy House - 2003 - Tenuta Caparzo
Società Agricola Caparzo is a winery in the Montalcino region of Tuscany that is particularly known for its Brunello di Montalcino red wines led by the Vigna La Casa cuvée. Introduced in 1977, it is one of the first single-varietal wines in the region, and also one of the first to use barriques - the wine sees a year in smaller barrels, then two years in 3000-liter French and Slavonian barrels. The vineyard was once the farm for the workers of the nearby Palazzo Montosoli. In total, Caparzo has approximately 90 hectares (220 acres) of vineyards in several locations. covering a wide range of terroirs. within the denomination. Born for the first time in 1982 from a selection of grapes from the vineyards located in Caparzo and San Piero Caselle, it can therefore be considered one of the first Supertuscans produced in the Brunello area.
