Do not confuse the village named Saint-Vérand with the appellation Saint-Véran, even though the former gave its name. Today, the appellation consists of not just one, but eight total villages, which collectively have 703 hectares (1,737 acres ) of screws.
Saint-Véran is located in the Maconnaise region of Burgundy and is slightly smaller and less well known then its neighbor Pouilly-Fuissé. Similar to the rest of the region, Chardonnay is the primary grape.
The wines are consistently high quality with the added bonus of a reasonable price. Flint, walnuts and citrus (mainly orange) are the most evident and persistent smells and flavors.
