The Stone - 2003 - Cabreo Estate
La Pietra, the first white Supertuscan, is produced with Chardonnay grapes from Tenute del Cabreo in Panzano in Chianti. Created in 1983 by Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, it has innovated the Chianti wine scene. Vinified and matured like a great red, it stands out for its ability to age for a long time in the bottle. The bouquet is complex, with notes of chamomile, dried tea, honey, sage, medicinal herbs, cedar and lemon peel. In the mouth, the freshness is surprising, with a balance of sweetness and bitterness from the toasting, and a mentholated and balsamic finish.
