In the Bordeaux vineyard, the 850 hectares of the Fronsac controlled designation of origin benefit from the influence of the Dordogne and Isle rivers. The famous Fronsac hill stands alone in the middle of a slightly hilly area. It produces only red wines, mainly based on Merlot, which represents over 85% of the grape variety addition. Merlot benefits from the high content of sandstone millstone soils. Blended wines, Fronsacs combine Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Cabernet Franc.
On the palate, Fronsac wines are balanced, with a solid structure and a rich aromatic palette. Small red fruits (cherry, plum) dominate, accompanied by some spicy nuances.
