Chianti Classico “Tenuta Sant’Alfonso” - 2018 - Rocca delle Macie
The Rocca delle Macie winery was founded in 1973 when film producer Zingarelli decided to culminate his dream by purchasing this estate and turning it into a full-fledged wine production business. Tenuta Sant'Alfonso is one of the estate's historic wines and one of its most prestigious crus. Experience gained in vineyard management has shown that the soils richer in clay and poorer in skeleton on this property, combined with the use of specific clones of Sangiovese lead to a development and ripening of grapes with a higher concentration of polyphenols and aromatic substances. The result is this rich and pulpy Chianti Classico with fruity hints of black cherry and blackberry with spicy notes of licorice and coffee and a harmonious and pleasant flavor structure.
