Henri Ramonteu, ein Autodidakt aus Béarnais, ist seit 1978 Winzer. Mit Medaillen und Auszeichnungen machte er sich nach und nach einen Namen und brachte die gesamte Herkunftsbezeichnung Jurançon mit. Die 43 Hektar Weinberge produzieren jedes Jahr etwa 250,000 Flaschen dieses goldenen Weins, der hauptsächlich aus zwei Rebsorten gewonnen wird: Petit Manseng (für Süßweine) und Gros Manseng (für trockene und süße Weine höchster Qualität). Die Reben liegen 500 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel, zwischen den Pyrenäen und dem Atlantik (wir sind hier ganz in der Nähe von Pau, 100 km von Biarritz und 60 km von Spanien entfernt). Sie profitieren unter anderem von einem Klima, das Berghärte und maritime Milde vereint. Winde fegen über das Gelände. Der hochwertige Boden ist eine wertvolle Mischung aus Ton, Kieselsteinen und Kieselsäure, die es den Reben ermöglicht, ihr Potenzial mit Noblesse auszudrücken. Die Weine mit der typischen Frische der Region offenbaren explosive Aromen von gekochtem Apfel, Mirabelle, Fruchtpaste und wilder Mispel.
