Die Philosophie von Terreno spiegelt sich in jeder Phase der Produktion wider, vom Weinberg bis zur Flasche. Im Weinkeller werden die Trauben gepflegt, um ihre Qualitäten zu verbessern, ohne ihren Charakter zu verändern. Die Ernte erfolgt manuell und die Trauben werden weiter selektiert. Für die Reifung der Weine verwendet er natürliche Hefen und Fermente in offenen Behältern, während er zur Erhaltung der Primärfrucht Stahltanks bevorzugt. Die Reifung erfolgt in großen, ausgewählten Fässern bei handwerklich arbeitenden Küfern. Die Weine präsentieren Aromen von reifen Kirschen, Beeren, pfeffrigen Gewürzen, Schokolade und Tabak, mit ausgeprägter Frische und eleganten Tanninen. Die Familie Ruhne, seit 1988 im Chianti Classico tätig, hat die Weinberge seit 2014 biologisch zertifiziert. Terreno ist autark und strebt danach, das Weingut in bessere Zukunftsbedingungen zu überführen, wobei er an die Aufteilung des Chianti Classico in 11 Gemeinden und an die Rolle glaubt von Wein, Essen und Schönheit zur Verbesserung der Welt.
